In this section:
Regional trials are conducted in the following age groups in 21 sports:
- 10–12 years
- 13–19 years (In this age group trials are held for 13–15 years in AFL, basketball, cricket, football, netball, rugby league, rugby union, touch, volleyball).
Teams are selected to represent the region at the respective Queensland School Sport state championships.
The Metropolitan West School Sport program offers students with disability the opportunity to participate in an inclusive environment in the following sports:
- Swimming
- Cross country
- Track and field
- Aquathlon and Triathlon
